The Nomination Period begins Monday, July 13, 2026, 8:00 a.m. and ends Friday, August 7, 2026, 12:00 p.m. Candidates will need to set up an appointment to pick up and return their nomination papers. Please call the City Clerk at (323)722-4805 ext. 2252 to schedule your appointment.

HOW TO SAFELY VOTE AT A VOTE CENTER
Voters qualify for registration by being a U.S. citizen, aged 18 years or older, a resident of Commerce, and neither in prison nor on parole for a felony conviction. Re-registration is required if you have moved since you last registered, changed your name, or changed your political party affiliation.
The registration deadline is 15 days before an election. Voter Registration forms are available in the City of Commerce Clerk's Office, Los Angeles Register/Recorder Offices and most public buildings including Department of Motor Vehicles Offices, Post Offices, etc.
You may register in person by visiting one of the Los Angeles County Registrar’s Offices and mail a completed registration form. You may also register to vote online at the California Secretary of State's website. Polling Places may change from election to election - be sure to verify your polling location by checking the Voter Pamphlet/Sample Ballot you received in the mail or check online with the Registrar of Voters online lookup tool.
Polls open on Election Day at 7:00am and polls close at 8:00pm.
